As fall arrives in North America, the weather may not feel like the season for much of NL as the new work week kicks off!

For those of you who like wearing sweaters and pumpkin spice everything, you’ll love this weekend’s forecast!

A cold sweeps across the Island today, bringing rain and showers with it. Meanwhile, single digits, showers, and flurries are in the forecast for the Big Land!

An all-time record was set in Town today, while the coolest air of the season moved into Labrador West. That cool WILL play a large role in the forecast over the coming days!

It will be unseasonably warm on the Island today, while at the same time the coolest air of the fall moves into Labrador!

Record warmth in parts of Labrador today gets replaced by flurries before Saturday. Meanwhile, warm air surges back onto the Island tomorrow. Details in tonight’s forecast!

This morning (as of 5:30 AM), we are waking up to areas of showers and rain across parts of Labrador and much of Newfoundland.

Thursday starts off dry, but rain is on the way for parts of Labrador and Newfoundland from two different weather features.

It was a chilly start this morning in parts of central and western Newfoundland, with Badger hitting -1.2ºC — the first official freeze of the season. Thankfully, tonight won’t be quite as cold.

We are certainly waking up to some cool temperatures in some areas this morning, particularly between Badger and Deer Lake.

A frost advisory is in place tonight for parts of central and interior Newfoundland, with lows dipping near freezing. St. John’s could reach 20 °C on Wednesday before rain moves into southern and eastern Newfoundland Thursday with 10–20 mm expected.

We are waking to a cooler and drier air mass over the region. When I say air mass, what I mean is the type of air over the area and where it came from.
