A frost advisory is in effect tonight for parts of central and interior Newfoundland, including Green Bay–White Bay, Grand Falls–Windsor, Deer Lake, Humber Valley, and Buchans. Overnight lows will dip between 0 °C and 5 °C, which means frost is possible in low-lying areas. Gardeners should take note if you still have sensitive plants outdoors.

Even with a chilly start Wednesday morning, temperatures will rebound nicely. Much of central and eastern Newfoundland will climb into the upper teens, with St. John’s potentially reaching 20 °C. If the city hits that mark, it would be the 80th day this year with a high of at least 20 °C — setting a new record at St. John’s International Airport, where records go back to 1942.

In Labrador, a few showers are expected in the west Wednesday, with more widespread rain spreading eastward overnight and into Thursday. That same system will bring wet weather to Newfoundland on Thursday. Rain is likely for southern and eastern parts of the Island by Thursday afternoon and night, with totals of 10–20 mm possible. The rain should taper off Friday morning, though some scattered showers could linger into the day.

Looking ahead, a cooler weekend is expected for eastern Newfoundland, but conditions should remain fairly pleasant overall.
