Wildfire Near Musgrave Harbour: Residents Urged to Be Ready | Update: Evacuation Orders Given

UPDATE — EVACUATION ORDER GIVEN TO RESIDENTS OF MUSGRAVE HARBOUR AS STATE OF EMERGENCY HAS BEEN DECLARED

A wildfire burning southwest of Musgrave Harbour in the Pine Pond area continues to be closely monitored by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. As of last night, residents were advised to prepare for a possible evacuation if the fire spreads toward the town.

Waterbombers and a helicopter are being deployed today by the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture to action the fire.

The Provincial Emergency Operations Centre is now at Level 1, indicating enhanced monitoring.
