Kingston Fire Status Changed to “Under Control”
The Province has officially changed the status of the Kingston wildfire to Under Control. This means firefighters have taken sufficient action to ensure the fire will not spread any further. The fire’s size remains at 10,095 hectares.
Today’s steady rainfall is providing much-needed relief for crews on the ground. Fifteen firefighters from Newfoundland and Labrador remain on site, continuing with fire management efforts. While the weather has kept aircraft grounded, officials say it is unlikely that air support will be needed today.
