High pressure keeps sunshine in play for much of this week!
We’re heading into a much calmer stretch of weather across Newfoundland and Labrador, and honestly, it’s a bit of a break compared to what we’ve been dealing with. High pressure is in control through at least Friday, and that’s going to keep things relatively quiet across the province.

Tonight will be mostly clear for many areas, with temperatures on the island dropping back below freezing—generally in the -1 to -4°C range. Labrador stays milder in spots, with some areas not even dipping below zero, which is a good sign of the seasonal transition underway.
Tomorrow turns even warmer.
Central and western Newfoundland will see the biggest jump, with highs climbing into the mid to upper teens as warmer air moves in aloft. Eastern areas will lag behind a bit, generally topping out around 7 to 8 degrees, and as usual, coastal spots will be a touch cooler with that light easterly flow hanging on.
In Labrador, temperatures continue to respond in a big way. Goose Bay could flirt with 20°C, with mid-teens expected across much of the rest of the region. That’s a notable shift compared to what we saw through March and earlier this month.
Looking ahead, the pattern stays fairly steady.
We’ll carry this quiet setup through Friday, with only a few showers possible as we head into the weekend. Temperatures ease back slightly during that time, but nothing dramatic.
Beyond that, it looks like we return to a similar setup again next week, with high pressure building back in and temperatures trending warmer once more.
No major weather makers on the board right now—and that’s something we’ll take.
The next forecast drops bright and early Wednesday morning!
