Frost Advisory In Effect Tonight Into Monday Morning (June 15, 2026) For Much Of Newfoundland
A chilly reminder that the growing season in Newfoundland comes with a few caveats. Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for much of the island tonight, with temperatures expected to dip close to or below freezing in the colder, low-lying areas. If you've got a garden on the go or tender plants outside, tonight's the night to give them some cover. Here's the rundown:
A Frost Advisory is in effect for much of eastern, central and northern Newfoundland tonight into early Monday morning.

The details:
Conditions are favourable for patchy frost to develop tonight, with partly clear skies and light winds teaming up with cool air. Minimum temperatures are expected to dip to between -1 and +4 °C, coldest in low-lying and frost-prone spots. The risk runs through early Monday morning.
What to do:
Take steps to protect cold-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Cover up anything vulnerable, especially in low-lying areas where the cold settles first.
