Friday Morning’s Weather Briefing — June 26, 2026

Good Friday morning! Here are today’s highlights:

  • Friday will be gorgeous on the Island, with lots of sun and comfortable temperatures in the teens and 20s.

  • Labrador will have a sunny start, but the afternoon will see numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which will be strong.

  • Generally speaking, we are in for a great weekend across NL!

We are off to a cool start this morning across the island with temperatures into the single digits under sunny skies. Labrador is generally a bit warmer but there certainly are some cool spots out there to begin the day. The map below shows the current temperatures as of 6 AM NDT.

Today across the Island expect wall to wall sunshine, with highs reaching the middle teens to lower 20s. The exception will be in the south, where onshore winds will keep readings into the lower teens. Wind speeds will not be much of a factor today.

Newfoundland’s forecast for today - June 26, 2026.

Labrador will have a sunny start, with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon across much of the region. Some of the storms will be strong and will produce gust winds, small hail, brief heavy rainfall and frequent thunder and lightning. The storms will generally move from northwest to southeast. Hights reach the teens and 20s.
