Clear skies rule the forecast for much of NL tonight and Tuesday

The Northern Lights may make an appearance tonight as a solar storm interacts with Earth’s atmosphere. That means those shimmering green and purple waves could dance across the sky — but as always, they can be unpredictable. The good news? Skies will be clear over just about the entire Province, so if the aurora does show up, visibility will not be an issue. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye to the sky tonight!
Looking past the aurora potential, the weather this week looks relatively tame. We’ll start off with near-to-well-above-normal temperatures, a welcome stretch of warmth for early September. As we move toward the latter half of the week, some areas will see a slight cool-down, but nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.
I go over all the details in this forecast video — from tonight’s aurora chances to what you can expect later in the week.
Have a great evening, and if you head outside tonight, don’t forget to look up!
