How this works
From CIS chart to morning briefing.
01 · Source
Daily WIS65 chart
Environment and Climate Change Canada publishes the Daily Iceberg Analysis Chart for the Newfoundland and Labrador coasts each morning at 7 AM NDT, drawn from International Ice Patrol observations.
02 · Synthesis
Counts & clusters
We parse each 1°×1° degree square, tally the icebergs reported, find the densest cell, and check for navigation advisories — then write the totals back into a 7-day history.
03 · Publish
Briefing & graphic
The daily total, hotspot, advisory and trend ship together as a social-ready graphic for mariners, marine ops, and anyone watching the iceberg season unfold along the eastern seaboard.
