Good Tuesday Morning! Here are today’s highlights
It’s a CHILLY start to the morning in the Big Land, with many areas reporting temperatures near or below freezing. The coldest spot I can find in Moosehead Lake at -2.8ºC as of 4:30 AM ADT.
Temperatures in Labrador recover to the teens this afternoon under mostly sunny skies — clouds increase in the west this afternoon.
Temperatures across Newfoundland range from the single digits to near 10ºC as of 5:30 AM NDT.
Showers on the Avalon Peninsula this morning will end by about 9 AM.
Partly to mostly sunny skies will be the rule across the Island today, with highs reaching the lower to mid-teens.

The system that brought us rain and drizzle overnight is on its way out, and most of the Province dries out today as high pressure builds in behind it. It's a cool, damp start out there — single digits across Labrador and interior/western Newfoundland, low double digits along the south and east coasts — with a few lingering showers still hanging around the Avalon this morning before things improve.
Eastern Newfoundland and the Avalon see the morning rain and showers wind down by ~9 AM, with cloudy to mostly cloudy skies giving way to some clearing by afternoon. Highs land in the low teens, 12º to 14º.
Central stays cloudy with a few lingering morning showers before it clears out later this morning or during the early afternoon. Highs are the coolest going around today, 11º to 13º, with the Northeast Coast the spot most likely to hang onto cloud the longest.
The West Coast sees clouds give way to some afternoon sun, with highs 13º to 15º. It will be a bit cooler in the higher terrain.
The South Coast stays cloudy but mild, with highs reaching 15º to 17º, the warmest spot on the Island today!
The Southwest coast will clear out through the afternoon with sunny breaks, highs of 14º to 16º, and no wind concerns to speak of today.
The GNP and the Straits get sunshine for a change, with highs of 12º to 14º.
Into the Big Land, around Goose Bay, expect a big recovery in temperatures this afternoon, with sun and highs of 17 to 19. Lab West will see clouds increase this afternoon, along with wind speeds. With highs of 13 to 15. Rain showers arrive late this evening or early in the overnight. The North Coast around Nain holds highs of 14º to 16º today, but that's the other spot where rain moves in tonight as the next system starts to arrive from the west. The rest of the coast will see similar highs today.
Looking ahead, the next system arrives late tonight and on Thursday. It looks like a more organized bout of rain — and wind for some — moving into Labrador tonight and across the Island Thursday afternoon into Thursday night, so if you've got outdoor plans, today's the day to get them in.
