We are still dealing with a few showers over eastern Newfoundland this morning, specifically on the Avalon.
Any showers we see will become less widespread as the day goes on.
Expect partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies across the Province today.
High temperatures reach the mid to upper teens on the Island and mid teens to near 20ºC in Labrador.
Frost is possible late tonight or early Thursday morning in parts of central and western Newfoundland. A Frost Advisory is in effect.
The threat of heavy rainfall remains a concern for parts of southern and eastern Newfoundland this weekend; however, there has been a southward trend in the latest forecasts (less rain).

Today’s Outlook
Temperatures this morning range from the teens on the Island to the single digits in Labrador, as of 6:11 AM NDT, and we are still seeing scattered showers over parts of eastern and central Newfoundland. Webcams also show a few areas of showers over parts of the West Coast and the Northern Peninsula.
A high-pressure area will build across the Province today, eroding the cloud cover on the Island as the day progresses. This means that the vast majority of us will see sunshine today. In the Big Land, it will be the wall-to-wall variety. On the Island, the skies will be sunny for most of us by late morning or early afternoon. Highs reach the mid-to-upper teens on the Island and the mid-teens to near 20ºC in Labrador.
The clear skies and light winds, combined with some dry air, will set the stage for a cool night across the region. Lows for much of NL will dip into the mid- to upper-single digits. There is the potential for pockets of frost overnight, especially in parts of central and western Newfoundland, where a FROST ADVISORY is in effect for early Thursday morning. Lows may dip as low as +2ºC, according to ECCC. If you have any frost-sensitive plants or vegetation, you’ll want to take precautions tonight to keep them from freezing.
