Tuesday Morning Weather Brief — November 11, 2025
Good Tuesday Morning.
Today is Remembrance Day — a day to stop, reflect, and be thankful for the freedoms we have here in Canada. We live in a country where we can speak freely, move freely, and live our lives in peace — all because of the courage and sacrifice of those who served before us. Take a moment today to remember them, and to think about what that freedom really means. Lest we forget.
An area of low pressure is currently swirling its way through Quebec, and to its east, significant amounts of moisture are being pushed northward through the Maritime Provinces and into Atlantic Canada. At this hour, the heaviest rain is currently located over southern Newfoundland, with pockets of heavy rain farther east. The snow is still falling heavily this morning in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. You can see it clearly on the highway cameras. Happy Valley-Gooose Bay airport is currently reporting rain and 1ºC. Below is simulated radar and satellite imagery, over the last 6 hours, for the region.
The snow and mixed precipitation will ease in Labrador throughout the day as the Big Land is positioned between weather systems. On the Island, the rain will continue through the day and will be heaviest in the south. Another low will develop in the Gulf tonight and track into Labrador tomorrow.

This will enhance the rainfall over parts of southern and western Newfoundland tonight and bring more rain and snow to Labrador tomorrow. The snow this brings to parts of central Labrador tomorrow will be significant. The weather on the Island will improve tomorrow. The animation below shows this well.
Wind speeds will ramp on the Island later today and tonight and will slowly come down tomorrow. The weather on the Island will improve tomorrow, although we are looking at some flurries and snow squalls on parts of the West Coast by afternoon as colder air moves in. The animation below times out the wind gusts for you.
Several Weather Alerts are in effect and they are as follows. Read more about them here.
