Good Tuesday morning!

We are waking up to some comfortable temperatures across the Province this morning. Readings range from the upper single digits to teens across the board. Many areas are also waking up to sunshine. I’ve included a few webcam images below, but if you'd like to see more, please visit the Road Cam page.

Today’s Forecast

We are looking at a fairly quiet start to the day across the region. That will change a bit this afternoon as it does look like there will be some afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the western, central, and interior parts of the Island. The showers will initiate (pop up) over western areas before moving eastward during the afternoon. Indications this morning are that the storms will be isolated. There will also be some afternoon showers and thunderstorms in western Labrador. Some of the storms will be on the stronger side.

Environment Canada’s thunderstorm outlook for Tuesday | July 28, 2025

According to the outlook above, the primary threats associated with any storms that develop will be heavy rainfall, hail as large as 1 cm in diameter, and wind gusts of up to 70 km/h. There is a high chance a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is issued for parts of Labrador West later today. Remember, when thunder roars go indoors!

Temperatures today will peak in the teens and 20s across much of the Island and teens to lower 20s in Labrador. While it will not be super muggy today, it will not be exactly not muggy either. Expect Humidex values to be a little higher than air temperatures as dew points will be in the teens.

Tomorrow is Regatta Day, and the current forecast looks promising for the big event. I’ll have an update on that and your full forecast posted by this afternoon.

Speaking of that, when would YOU like to see the full forecast posted? Answer in the comments to let me know!

Have a great day!

Eddie
