Here are today’s weather highlights:

  • A fast-moving low departs this morning, rain, scattered showers and flurries will linger through the morning for much of Newfoundland and parts of Labrador.

  • Temperatures will fall today over western and central Newfoundland from highs this morning. Eastern areas wil see the happen this afternoon and evening.

  • Cold and breezy in the Big Land today, and generally sunny.

  • An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for Labrador West, Churchill Falls and the Churchill Valley for tonight for wind chills to -45ºC.

  • A Special Weather Statement is in effecto fr southern and eastern Newfoundland and for Wednesday ahead of a cold weather maker that promises to bring another round of snow and ice, starting Wednesday morning.
