Friday Morning Weather Update — November 28, 2025

Good Friday morning!

The weather across the Province will be driven today by an area of low pressure swirling through Labrador. North of the low, along much of the coast, snow will fly today. Meanwhile, expect scattered flurries over interior areas and the Labrador West. On the Island, the weather will be a bit calmer; however, rain will redevelop over eastern areas this afternoon, while central and western areas see scattered showers.

This animation shows the expected areas of rain and snow through today and into Saturday morning. By Saturday morning, snowfall amounts in Labrador will only be a few centimeters. Rainfall amounts on the Island will be less than 10 mm. The animation also shows how the temperatures will fluctuate throughout the day.

The area of low pressure skirting through the Big Land today will intensifty over the North Atlantic Saturday. This will freshen the winds over the Province. This will also bring more onshore snow to the coast of Labrador and will also result in the development of onshore snow over and near western areas of the Island. The weather will become a bit calmer for Sunday before out next bout of Labrador snow and Newfoundland rain moves in Monday.

Beyond that, some computer model guidance is beginning to hint that southeastern Newfoundland, including the Avalon, may see the first truly significant snow of the season on Wednesday. This is still several days away, and I’ll have forecast updates for you on all of this over the next several days.

My next update will be posted this afternoon.

Stay tuned!

I’ll have my next update posted later today!
