Today’s Forecast
Skies will generally turn mostly sunny today, and after a cool start, temperatures will rebound nicely into the lower and middle teens across most of the Province. The warmest readings will be found in parts of central and interior Newfoundland and central and western Labrador, where middle to even upper teens are attainable. The maps below should give you an idea of today's expected highs.
Newfoundland’s forecast for today, May 14, 2026.
Labrador’s forecast for today, May 14, 2026.
Wind speeds remain up today with gusts as high as 60 km/h from the west or southwest behind our departing low. The peak gusts will generally drop throughout the day as the pressure gradient driving the wind relaxes. The animation below shows that well.
The next low, or lows, arrive Friday and will bring a few rounds of rain just in time for the beginning of the holiday weekend. The first round of rain will fall on Friday, particularly in the morning, followed by another round on Saturday morning. The weather will improve on the Island for Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, in Labrador, expect a decent Saturday with scattered showers Sunday and Monday, especially near the coast.
My next update will be later today, and I’ll get into the MAY 2 4 weekend in detail. See you then!
