St. John’s hit 21°C at 3:45 PM, the 19th day this month at or above 20°C.
Add that to 28 in July, 18 in June, and 4 in May → that’s 69 days this year at or above 20°C.
The record at the airport is 76 days (1942) — and we’re getting close, with September still to come.
Tonight & Thursday
Overnight: Showers across southeastern Newfoundland — 2–5 mm possible.
Thursday morning: Rain pushes off by ~9 AM, sunshine returns midday.
Thunderstorm chance Thursday afternoon: Bay St. George → Corner Brook → Grand Falls-Windsor/Gander → Bonavista Bay/Avalon by evening.
Not expected to be severe.
Main threat: Heavy downpours.
