Friday Morning’s Weather Briefing — February 27, 2026

Good Friday Morning!

Here are today’s weather highlights:

  • Light rain has arrived on the Avalon Peninsula ahead of a cold front and will stick with us into the early afternoon. Skies will clear from west to east as it ends as the front moves east.

  • In a shocking turn of events, outside of scattered flurries, much of NL will be sunny and cloudy today.

  • Temperatures will be in the single digits below freezing over much of the Island and in the teens below zero in Labrador.

  • An inbound low will bring snow to Labrador on Saturday, beginning in the west in the afternoon.

  • Eastern Newfoundland has a chance of more rain and snow on Sunday, while western areas will see snow by late in the day.

  • The next chance of significant snow (at the moment) appears to be this coming Wednesday.
