Friday Morning Weather Brief | July 25, 2025

Good Friday morning!

As expected, we are waking up to areas of rain and showers across the Island this morning. The most widespread rain is over central and western regions, while eastern areas seeing more in the way of scattered showers. Here is a radar snapshot from about 6 AM, which would give you a solid spatial overview of where the showers are.

Showers are found in the east with more rain in the west

Track the showers with the RADAR inside the Sheerr Weather App! You can also use the MAP ROOM to track them as well!

Throughout the rest of the morning and into the early afternoon, the showers will become a little LESS widespread across much of the Island as we are kind of between weather-makers. That being said, areas of western and southwestern Newfoundland will see numerous showers throughout the day. Parts of southeastern Labrador will also see a fair bit of shower activity through the day. Future Satellite and Radar (below) shows this quite well.

The rain building in there on the last few seconds of that image is the start of an area of low pressure rolling it. THat will bring widespread rainfall to much of the Island overnight into Saturday. I’ll have the details on that later this afternoon in my complete and full weekend forecast! I also plan to have a FOOD FISHERY FORECAST for you later today as well.

TODAY’S TEMPERATURES AND WIND

The wind is up a bit this morning and will stay on the breezy side throughout the day. The wind speeds will relax a bit tonight and Saturday before picking back up again later Sunday. Hold on to your hats!

Temperatures today climb back into the upper teens to lower 20s across the Province once more. Along with the rain, there will be some areas of fog along south-facing shorelines today as the winds will be from the south and southwest.

It will also be on the humid side today as we are seeing an influx of moisture from the south once more. While Humidex values will not be crazy, it will feel a bit warmer because of the surging moisture. The GIF below shows the moisture being directed at parts of the Province.

Have a great day and be sure to check the Sheerr Weather App early and often for the updated hourly forecast for your area, and also for the LVIE RADAR page, which will help you know where the showers are at all times.

Have a great day!

Eddie
