A Lovely Sunday Is On Tap For Most Areas Of The Province

Good Sunday morning, folks!

We’re waking up to a pretty fantastic day across much of Newfoundland and Labrador — perfect for getting outside and soaking up some summer while we have it.

For most of the Island, the weather is shaping up to be just about ideal. Expect plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures across the board. It’s the kind of day that calls for a patio coffee, a stroll by the water, or maybe a few hours on the beach.

Now, there is one area where things will turn a bit greyer this afternoon — and that’s the Great Northern Peninsula. Showers will push in as the day goes on, so if you're up that way, you might want to get your outdoor plans in earlier rather than later.

Meanwhile, over in Labrador, it’s a different story. Rain and scattered showers will work their way through most areas along and south of the Trans-Labrador Highway. So if you're traveling that stretch or spending time outside, be sure to have your rain jacket handy. On the other hand, communities along the north and mid-coast should see more settled weather with a mix of sun and cloud through the day.

Temperature-wise, much of the Island will enjoy highs in the low to mid 20s, making for a warm and comfortable day. Labrador will be a bit cooler, with temperatures generally in the teens — which is right on par for late July.

All in all, a decent day across the region with only a few spots seeing less-than-perfect weather.
